Our Volunteer Program spans three locations, our Wilson Site, Reactivation Care Centre – Finch Site and Reactivation Care Centre – Church Site.
Wilson Site Opportunities
| Inpatient Units | Providing patient support through social visits, assisting with how to use their phone, TV, music, games, meal orders, etc.; providing mealtime assistance (tray set up only); assisting with recreational activities |
| Outpatient Clinics | Greeting patients, providing support to patients during appointments, liaising with family members. Examples of Outpatient Clinics are: Fracture & Plastics, Cancer Care, Cardiology, Dialysis, Endoscopy and more |
| Emergency Department | Welcoming patients arriving, explaining the Triage process and kiosk, liaising with family, escorting patients to certain sections in the department |
| Surgical Program | Providing support to patients as they move throughout the surgical program from pre-operation to post-operation; liaising with families |
| Lobby Services | Consists of two roles: Information Desk and Welcome Team; welcoming patients in person and over the phone; providing information on hospital services and directions to various departments; escorting patients to various departments |
| Gift Shop | Assisting patients, visitors and staff with purchases; selling OLG lottery tickets; assisting with stocking shelves |
| Talent Sharing | Volunteers with musical or artistic skills may share those abilities with patients |
