The Nephrology Program Transplant Champions welcomed Dmitri Belenko, Project Coordinator and Dr. Istvan Mucsi, Nephrologist, both from UHN, to the Hemodialysis unit. Dr. Mucsi and Dmiti were on site to support the Ontario Renal Network Access to Kidney Transplant (AKT) initiative. The Transplant Champions described their role, shared their successes and provided positive feedback from patients and families regarding AKT. Dr. Mucsi stated that the HRH Kidney Transplant Champion model is an innovative program and a first in the province.
