Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit

The Inpatient Unit provides short-term hospitalization for adults 19 years of age and older with acute mental health disorders whose needs cannot be met on an outpatient basis. These patients require a protective, therapeutic environment. The team provides the patient with a multidisciplinary comprehensive assessment and together with the patient and family creates an individualized treatment plan.

Emphasis is placed on reintegrating well patients back into the community by focusing on the discharge plan in the treatment planning process. The multidisciplinary team consists of psychiatrists, general practitioners, nurses, social workers, a recreation therapist, a dietician, pharmacists, chaplains and other allied professionals as required.

How to access the program:

Referral by a psychiatrist is required.

Located on the 5th floor, use the Central elevators.
