Find Patient Education Classes


Patient education classes are an important part of your experience at Humber River Hospital. The classes will give you and your family the information and tools to understand your medical conditions and treatment processes.


Patient Education classes meet in the Patient & Family Resource Centre, Level 0 (on the West side of the central elevator).


The classes are free but requires registration. To register, please email Carmen Alcalde,, or call the Patient & Family Resource Centre at 416-242-1000 ext. 81200.

Take a course for free and learn at your own pace to find reliable, up-to-date health information so you can make a better decision about your health.


Home and Community Care available at HRH

A hospital visit for your elderly family member and or complex physical needs can be scary and overwhelming. The Patient & Family Resource Centre is pleased to offer an information session with presentations by a Home and Community Care representative, who will discuss services that they offer and are available to the supported person. There will be a question and answer period following the presentations.


Advance Care Planning & Estate Planning

Learn about advance care planning and why it is important? In this session you will learn how to ensure your wishes are considered in the event that you become unable to consent to or refuse treatment yourself. Start the conversation with your family and friends and designate your substitute decision maker.
